Construction Begins September 2026
The Farmington Community Library is starting renovation projects at both FCL locations as part of the first phase of the Library's Facilities Masterplan. These improvements will update aging infrastructure, improve accessibility, and create new spaces for the community to gather, study, and play.
Construction is is tentatively scheduled to begin September 8, 2026. While timelines may change as work progresses, Phase One is currently anticipated to be completed in June 2027.
We know construction can be an inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while this work is underway. These improvements are an investment in the future of your Library, and we're excited to welcome the community into these updated spaces as each project is completed.
All Phase One projects are funded through the Library's operating budget.
What to Expect During Construction
Both Library locations are expected to remain open throughout construction. However, some changes and temporary disruptions may affect your visit, including:
- Temporary closures of specific areas
- Relocated collections
- Occasional service interruptions
- Possible short-term building closures when needed for safety
- Increased construction noise and reduced parking availability during portions of the projects
The Library will work closely with contractors to minimize disruptions whenever possible. Construction schedules may change as work progresses, and we’ll continue to provide updates throughout the project. Please check this page regularly for the latest updates before your visit.
