Study rooms are available at both Library locations. The Farmington Hills location has five study rooms: two rooms (for up to 6 people each) in the Non-Fiction area on the main level, two rooms (for up to 3 people each) in the Browsing Area on the main level, and one room (for up to 4 people) in the Children’s Department on the lower level. The Farmington location has one room (for up to 6 people) on the lower level.
Study Room Guidelines
- Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations cannot be made in advance.
- Study rooms are available for use by residents, non-residents, individuals, and groups up to the maximum capacity. If room capacity has been exceeded, you may be asked to leave.
- To use a study room on the main level, you must sign in with a staff member at the Information or Browsing Desks. To use a study room on the lower level, you must sign in with a staff member at the Children’s Department Information Desk. Anyone using a study room that has not been signed out by a staff member may be asked to leave.
- Study room use is limited to two hours when others are waiting to use a room. Rooms that have been signed out, but left unoccupied for more than 15 minutes may be assigned to another patron.
- Study rooms may only be used once per day by individuals or groups. An individual’s or group’s time may not be extended when new members arrive. Please let a staff member at the Information Desk know when you are finished using the room
- Library Staff reserve the right to make all study room decisions.
